Jose Altuve will miss at least the next two games with his left hamstring strain, Astros manager Dusty Baker told reporters before Tuesday’s matchup against the Angels at Minute Maid Park. Altuve suffered the injury legging out an infield single late in Monday night’s game.

Aledmys Diaz is in the lineup in place of Altuve and hitting seventh. Rookie shortstop Jeremy Peña is hitting in Altuve’s customary leadoff spot.

The Astros wrap up the three-game series with the Angels on Wednesday before getting a day off Thursday. There’s a chance Altuve could return to the lineup when the Blue Jays come to town Friday, although if enough progress hasn’t been made by then, the Astros may be forced to put the 2017 MVP on the injured list.
