Orlando Journal Wins 11 Awards for Excellence
Recognition from Florida Journal Affiliation contains honors for design, writing, pictures, on-line video.
Orlando journal has received 11 awards from the Florida Journal Affiliation within the group’s annual Charlie Awards competitors.
The honors included two first-place Charlie Awards for illustration and canopy design for the March 2017 Neighborhood Angels cowl and the Could 2017 Eating Awards entrance, with the journal sweeping the class for Greatest Conventional Illustration. Writing awards went to Michael McLeod for “The Therapeutic,’’ a have a look at the Orlando group one 12 months after the Pulse tragedy, and to eating critic Joseph Hayes for his tales and opinions within the Dine part. Photograph editor Roberto Gonzalez received a Silver Award for his photograph of an area butcher, whereas designer Denis Vargas garnered a prime award for his design of a Burger Battle promoting promotion. An internet video of poet Billy Collins additionally obtained a Bronze Award.
Recognizing achievements by Florida magazines since 1957, FMA’s annual Charlie Awards competitors honors publishers, writers, editors, artists, photographers, printers, entrepreneurs and others as the most effective amongst their friends in scores of classes. Juried by acknowledged out-of-state journal and newspaper professionals, and faculty journalism professors, tons of of entries vie for first, second and third place awards—Charlie, Silver and Bronze.
The awards had been offered Friday night time on the FMA’s annual Charlie Awards banquet, held on the Hilton Orlando Bonnet Creek.
